Overview

After the release of their debut record, The Positions, in May last year, Sydney-side rockers Gang of Youths are due to play a single show at Bodega before setting off on their biggest Australian tour yet.

Formed in 2012, the four-piece have been credited by critics as reviving the indie-rock genre; with inspirations ranging from Tom Waits to Broken Social Scene, these boys are ready for big things. The debut of The Positions at number five in the ARIA charts is clearly a sign of things to come - the nominations soon started piling up. From a nomination in the album of the year category at the J Awards, to an impressive five ARIA nominations including best Australian live act, best rock album and best breakthrough artist, they're full of ambition and big ideas.

This echoes through to their sound - songs sound stadium-ready, building intensely into an epic rock sound with undertones of sorrow. The album is built around one of the band member's experiences with cancer, which makes for captivating lyricism and a richly textured record. See below for your chance to win a double pass to their show this Friday and witness the rise of one of Australian's best bands of the moment.
