Gurfers May Mashup

Calling all Wellington Gurfers. If you're not familiar with this neologism, any 'girl surfers' are welcome to Lyall Bay this weekend to compete. This Wellington collective is all about expanding its community of female surfers as well as ocean lovers who frequently say 'mellow' or 'gnarly'. Or if you are just wanting to watch some incredible wāhine take on the waves, this is the event for you.

The Gurfer whānau will be meeting up for the May Mashup surfing competition from 8-11.30am and want your support. If you are interested in competing, registration can be found here. Backing this event are Lyall Bay's Real Surf shop who can provide wetsuits and boards to rent. Original Dynamic who design and shape surfboards are also supporting Wellington's best female surfers. Everyone is welcome so grab a board and come along.
