Overview

With a new album and the blessings of both Neil Finn and Jimmy Barnes, Kirin J Callinan is not messing around. Some of you more seasoned readers may remember Kirin erstwhile from the days of Camp a Low Hum. For those of you who are new to him, you are in for an absolute treat.

A pop oddity of the absolute highest order, Kirin touches down in Wellington this weekend for the tour of his second album, Bravado. Expect tounge-in-cheek pop hooks with gorgeous vocal harmonies alongside some serious '80s synths. Kirin can work an audience like no one's business, taking the best bits of Jarvis Cocker and Mac deMarco to be the showman that everybody needs. He may not be to everyone's taste (leave your aunty at home) but the man is never boring. A lot of people have been hanging out for this concert for a long time and I suggest if you want a ticket, get one soon.

Who knows, you might even spot a Finn or two.
