Overview
Kurt Vile first caught our attention back in 2005, when he and Adam Granduciel formed the indie rock band The War On Drugs. After several years concentrating on his solo work, Vile eventually joined forces with The Violators, and they're hitting New Zealand stages in April with their new album Bottle It In.
Released out of the blue in October last year, Bottle It In is Vile's follow up to Lotta Sea Lice, his 2017 collaboration with Courtney Barnett. It includes the single 'Bassackwards', which was described by Pitchfork as "10 minutes of warped, psychedelic folk-rock, like a long sigh in the face of existential dread."
Kurt Vile (and it's his real name, not a pseudonym) has named Neil Young and Tom Petty amongst his major influences, and it shows. Get your tickets early for this one — it'll sell out quickly.
