Overview

At the Latin America and Spain Film Festival the extent of the genre span - ranging from comedy drama to thriller suspense - is only rivalled by the scope of countries the film’s originated from.

This year festival-goers can look forward to genre diverse films originating from twelve nations. A heartbreak comedy from Argentina (It’s Not You, It’s Me) a documentary telling a story of equality in the entertainment industry from Brazil (Simonal) a mystery thriller from Columbia and Spain (The Hidden Face) and a coming-of-age story that wrestles with the conflict between conservative and modern interests of females everywhere from Ecuador (In the Name of the Girl). These four films are only a taster of the disparate genres, styles and plots viewers will be subject to at the event.
