Overview

This new travelling pop-up exhibition invites Wellingtonians to air their memories from New Zealand's COVID-19 lockdown.

Lockdown Laundry will share the ups and downs of locals from the unprecedented time when we couldn't easily share our lives with others. From 11–25 July, Lockdown Laundry typist Katja Starke will pop-up in locations around the capital and capture memories and experiences on an old typewriter. Participants can then hang them out to air on the washing line alongside other Lockdown Laundry notes, and read about how other people in the community experienced lockdown.

The exhibition is presented by Love Letters, a service helping people write letters to their loved ones on an old typewriter.
