Overview
The skies are getting darker as we sink into the depths of winter and daylight saving becomes a distant memory. Luckily, Lux has found an upside to shorter days and longer nights. Dark skies means impressive light shows, glow sticks and glow-in-the-dark drawings. The festival is a city-wide celebration of light, sustainability, technology and culture that is sure to drag us out of that winter slump.
Artists from over the globe will travel to the city and set up their displays along the waterfront and through back alleyways. Interactive pieces will have the public getting involved in the light shows, and glow sticks will keep the kids entertained for hours (or until they break and turn your kid luminous). From massive, three-dimensional lit-up giants, to interactive lighting games, the festival intends not only to entertain, but also to educate. A range of speakers who specialise in sustainable technology and lighting will share their thoughts and latest industry news with audiences interested in making the world sustainable.
Last year Lux illuminated the capital with sixteen incredible luminous exhibits and twelve inspirational speakers, and this year they’re promising to be even bigger and better.
