Musical Punch Over Lunch
Take your lunch away from the office — instead scoff it while enjoying a lineup of musical acts.
Overview
Are you a 'scoff a sandwich at your desk' kind of lunch eater? A new music series is hoping to change that, getting you out of the office and maybe sampling a little of the culture and talent this city has to offer.
Historic venue Old St Paul's is running a new concert series on Thursday lunchtimes, with diverse lineup of local performers performing in the church's stunning surrounds. Bring your lunch — cold items only, leave that fish pie at home and treat yourself to some sushi — pull up a pew and soak in the tunes.
On the lineup is the old-time Appalachian mountain string band, The Godwits; harpist Michelle Velvin joined by Anna Prasannan on flute; classical guitarist Chris Everest; jazz duo Andrew London and Terry Crayford; barbershop group, Harbour Capital Chorus and plenty more.
Entry will only set you back a koha, and performances are 45 minutes long — giving you plenty of time to stroll back to the office aftwards. We expect that dealing with those pesky post-lunch emails should be a bit easier after a lunch break of tunes.
