Overview

Solander Gallery, located on Willis Street, holds some of the most acclaimed contemporary Australasian artists. The gallery specialises in works on paper and this Saturday the gallery is opening up their doors to invite you to a printmaking demonstration.

The demonstration that uses non-toxic materials (which is what we like to hear) will be conducted by two highly established artists, Lynn Taylor and Basia Smolnicki who exhibit both nationally and internationally. Taylor and Smolnicki will give you a glimpse into how the craft of solar plate relief and embossing printmaking is done.

The informal event will invite the public to ask the artists questions about their practice. There may even be an opportunity for you to get involved and try out the handmade process yourself. Come along for free this Saturday, August 15th, 1pm to 3pm to make your mark or to sit back and see how the masters do it.
