Overview

71% of the earth is covered in it, no one knows what’s going on in 97% of it: the ocean is a source of wonder soon to be exhibited in the Ocean Film Festival. The festival is a night of exploration and appreciation for the big blue - all from the comfort of a soft, dry seat.

The Ocean Film Festival uses films to inspire people to explore, respect, enjoy, and protect our oceans.  The festival features two hours of award-winning films from independent filmmakers around the world, including: Arctic Swell an Arctic-based film from photographer Chris Burkard chasing pros Patrick Millin, Brett Barley and Chadd Konig surfing around in sub-zero temperatures; Devocean a film about the ex-surfer, diver and sailor now-paraplegic Bruno who had to rediscover a way of connecting to the ocean; Swell Chasers - the name says it all; Oceanminded a short doco about the underwater world of freediver Hanli Prinsloo; and A Small Surfer, a story about Quincy Symonds potentially the best six-year-old surfer in the world (within the first 18 months of riding she has already raked in multiple sponsors as well as thousands of social media followers).

One dollar from each festival ticket sold will go to Paddle for Hope, a charity aimed at improving cancer survivors' quality of life.
