Overview

Plant-powered Wellingtonians may have noticed the disappearance of Plant Blazed from Dunlop Terrace. After wrapping up its stint in the former Recycle Boutique loading dock, the vegan food caravan has been running deliveries and an alleyway operation out of Kilbirnie.

This month will see the return of the Plant Blazed crew to the central city, as they join forces with San Fran. From Wednesday, 17 June, the Cuba Street music venue will be home to plant-based comfort food. The kitchen will be open from Wednesday to Saturday with a menu comprising burgers, bowls and veggie hot dogs. We recommend their seitan burgers, particularly The Howlin' Wolf — southern fried seitan, chilli-citrus slaw, barbecue sauce and aioli. If you're looking for a moreish hot dog, try the David Bowie — stuffed with facon, sauerkraut, gherkins, cheese, onions, tomato sauce and mustard.

The relaunch will be followed by a free Eyegum show featuring Dartz and DJ Panda.
