Richard III

The stage will be awash with metaphorical blood. Bring a raincoat.

Overview

Shakespeare is Wellington's theatre flavour of the month with plenty of classics from the playwright being performed this month - including Richard III,  playing at the BATS Theatre from the 20th until the 30th of January.

One who didn't learn to talk out his feelings or emotions, Richard III sees murder as the only answer to every and all of life's problems. His craving for power leads him to plot incest and assassinate rivals (read: family members). It gets messy. The play that fully earns the title of a blood bath, is based on the life of King Richard III who reigned from 1483 to 1485. Unlike your usual based-on-true-stories box office movie, things do not get inspiration, things do not end well.

The stage will be awash with metaphorical blood for Shakespeare's Richard III. Bring a raincoat.
