Road to Beervana

Overview

All good roads lead to Beervana, and have for the past seven installments. This year is bigger than ever with over 60 international and local breweries joining the party. Top breweries from across the globe will be collaborating with local Kiwi brewers, and there will be plenty of great food, music and entertainment to boot.

The ultimate pre-party Road to Beervana takes place the week before and is suitable for producers, purveyors and patrons to appreciate the copious amounts of craft beer and the hospitality that comes with it.

Running from August 2–11 across Wellington, there is something for every kind of beer enthusiast and those curious for a taste. The hefty lineup includes 30 different events, including Back to Our Roots at One Fat Bird, showcasing eight beers from Mean Doses and Bassline Brewing on 2 August. Fortune Favours Turns 2 (August 2–4) is a weekend of live music, giveaways, food and birthday beverages including an imperial stout and barley wine which has been aging for one year. Berlin Brauhaus (August 3) brings the best of Berlin to the back alleys of Wellington. The all-day rave will feature Reinheitsgeburger and other Bavarian talents. Of course Garage Project's deutsche-inspired craft beers will also be making an appearance.

Wellington vs The World Beer (August 3) offers up six Welly classic beers and six international goodies to taste; Cheesemaker vs Brewer (August 6–7) will see Black Dog team up with NZ's best independent cheese makers for a guided tasting; and All You Can Eat Meat (August 6–8) will see Grill Meats Beer pair four different house-smoked meats with beer from Emerson's Brewery.
