Roger Waters’ three-year reimagining of Pink Floyd’s theatrical ‘Wall Tour’ reigns as the highest-grossing tour for a solo musician ever. After carrying out 219 shows through six continents, and raking in $460 million in profits, the songwriter is now bringing The Wall concept to the big screen.

Tipped as a “protest movie,” Roger Waters The Wall fuses concert footage from the tour as well as rushes of Waters dealing with the loss he has felt throughout his life due to war; The Wall album is based on his experiences growing up in post-war England. A incredibly personal journey, behind-the-scenes material is captured of Waters visiting both the World War I cemetery where is grandfather is buried and the beachhead where his father died during a World War II battle.

Having premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, the film - co-directed by Waters himself and Sean Evans - will make its public debut simultaneously in theatres around the world on Tuesday, September 29. New Zealand will be the first country in the world to take part.

After the screening, Waters and Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason will appear via the wonders of the internet for a conversation spurred by questions submitted from around the world.
