Overview

The Elephant Thief begins in the mystical land of dreams and crazy occurrences. Set in a time when India is the most powerful nation in the world, The Elephant Thief follows Leela Devi as she partakes on a jounrey to see the world with an unexpected companion by her side, her father's elephant. A love story which involves, greedy poachers, spiritual beings, unscrupulous officials and a giant elephant is brought to life through theatrical masks, buckteeth, props and an enchantment that is almost believable.

Produced and directed by the Theatre Company Indian Ink, this extraordinary sounding performance is brought to you by Justin Lewis and Jacob Rajan who are well known for creating indelible magic, inspiration, whit and laughter. The Elephant Thief is showing in Nelson, Wellington, New Plymouth and Auckland.
