The Gap

A deeper look into the horizon and mental health.

Overview

A hauntingly beautiful series of photographs shot looking east across the Tasman Sea. The images stand from Sydney's South Head taken between 2014-2016. The exhibition explores an ever-changing horizon, one that holds a deep history. This part of Harry Culy's ongoing series is based in Precinct 35 on Ghuznee St. At face value the series offers a still look at a collection of light, colours and nature. At second glance this exhibition is the opening to a discussion of mental health.

Harry Culy is a Massey University student based in Wellington. The artist has travel the world, but him and his old 4x5 camera feel most at home in Australia in NZ. The series honours the struggle that many of us face these days while also providing a quiet place to reflect.

The exhibition runs from 28th September - 15th October and is available during Precinct 35 hours.
