Overview

If you have been looking for a way to escape the world of mere mortals, then this is the event for you. The Wizarding Academy Express, an exciting train journey, is steaming into Wellington. On July 13, the express will be departing Wellington Railway Station from 9.25am, 11.15am, 1.10pm, and finally, 3.10pm.

Professors from Zealandia's Saremcroft Wizarding Academy will be sourcing local witches and wizards for their next intake. Your lessons begin as the train departs platform 9 3/4. Your lesson plan includes spell casting, potions and defence against the dark arts.

The train ride is an interactive theatre experience, suitable for all ages. Your carriage is your 'house', where you'll find your House Captain and Professor. Robes and wands are at the ready, and can be added when purchasing tickets. There are three tiers of tickets. All include a 1-1.5-hour experience, magical activities and a souvenir. The VIW Carriage includes all of the above, as well as Saremcroft Butter Ale and a smaller carriage.

Gather all your fellow witches and wizards for an authentic steam engine train ride, and learn a spell or two along the way.
