Overview

After selling out two seasons at Melbourne’s La Mama Theatre, Two Mortals will play out at Wellington’s Circa Theatre.

The theatre show directed by Chapman Tripp Director of the Year Geoff Pinfield is an attempt to illuminate one of life’s hardest topics - death.

Created and performed by Rachael Dyson-MacGregor and Mike McEvoy, it was composed word-for-word from interviews with people who live and work at the ends of life - an undertaker, a minister, a cryogenicist, a carer, a palliative care nurse, a counsellor and apparently Michael Jackson.

The multi-character performance uses headphone verbatim technique, an approach that requires the actors to wear headphones, through which they are fed an audio-script of the stories and experiences, and interviews recorded pre-show with the audience.
