Overview

You don't need a golden ticket to get a tour of this chocolate factory, just $15. The Wellington Chocolate Factory (WCF) are opening their doors to the public on Saturdays for the next five weekends. The tours will be providing valuable information about the art of making the chocolate we love so much.

The WCF promise to explain the complexities of roasting, conching, tempering, winnowing and cracking as well as the historical origins of the beans. You will get access to the custom-built chocolate factory and hopefully afterwards you'll be able to condescendingly explain to your friends the vital difference between trinitario and criollo cacao.

This event is for people aged seven years and older but if you don't want your smaller children to miss out, the WCF also does tours in the school holidays. Bookings must be made prior. The WCF clearly take their chocolate tasting extremely seriously as they recommend you avoid drinking coffee, smoking and have at least a 1-hour nil per os (nothing through the mouth) period before the tour.
