Overview

As it is, Wellington is a foodie's mecca. However, on no other weekend during the year can one experience such a potent concentration of culinary innovation as at the Wellington Food Show.

Descending on Westpac Stadium starting Friday 4th and stretching through Sunday 6th September, gastronomic punters can explore a swag of the newest and most exciting offerings. Foodies will find new, innovative ingredients to try in their next dish, while winos can try a tipple from New Zealand's prominent vineyards. Those of you who (ashamedly or not) collect kitchen appliances will be appeased, as will be health fanatics with a taste for paleo and a soft spot for kale.

In the Whirlpool Cooking Theatre throughout the show, such seasoned personalities as Martin Bosley, Annabelle White, Ray McVinnie, Simon Gault, the Bondi Harvest boys, Kyle Street (of DEPOT), and Shaun Clouston (of Logan Brown) will be getting down to gastronomical business - a rare chance to learn straight from some of the industry's professionals.

2015 also heralds the arrival of a worthy partnership - the Food Show has teamed up with the Wellington City Mission to donate the leftover exhibitors' product, as well as a show space to fundraise and educate public of the services the Mission provides. All the more reason to direct your feet to Westpac Stadium and chow down on the capital's most exciting treats for the foodies among us.
