Overview

You might not be able to visit the motherland for Christmas this year, but the Polish Association in New Zealand is bringing some festive European cheer to Newtown.

Wellington's Polish Christmas Market will make its return to Riddiford Street's Dom Polski on Saturday, 14 November. The market is known for its good Polish food, interesting gifts and live entertainment in an old-fashioned neighbourhood street fair atmosphere. From 11am until 5pm a range of stalls will be selling interesting gifts, home-baked goods and sweets, and no doubt some delicious Polish perogi dumplings.

All proceeds from the kawiarnia (coffee shop) will go to the association, while gifts placed under the Christmas tree will be collected in conjunction with St Vincent de Paul for children in need.
