Overview

Anthonie Tonnon is celebrating the release of his latest single and video 'Old Images' with an intriguing concept tour this December. Dubbed The RailLand Tour, both Tonnon and his audience will be taken out of city centres to the music venue via passenger trains. The idea is not only to showcase the natural beauty of Aotearoa in summertime, but to also "be a poetic and practical exploration of passenger rail and a meditation of what it means to us in the modern era."

In Auckland's case, attendees are invited to hop on the scenic Eastern Line from Britomart Station. It will take you along the seemingly endless expanses of water across Hobson Bay and the Orakei Basin, through mangroves and stately east Auckland suburbs before changing at Otahuhu and heading north through the vibrant Manukau Harbour to Ellerslie where Tonnon will perform at the War Memorial Hall. The show will finish early, with time to catch last trains home. It will be an evening that merges the past and the present with an elegant flair, much like Tonnon's music.

Don't miss this unique experience happening on Friday, 21 December. Doors at 7.15pm, show at 8pm. The ticket price excludes the cost of travel.
