While drinking and hair cuts don’t typically go hand in hand, the belated opening party for Ponsonby’s newest barbershop is set to be a marriage made in heaven.

Boar and Blade is the pride and joy of Wellingtonian Brendan (Bundy) Blake, a champion of the hair cutting game for more than ten years. With an already flourishing establishment in the capital, the institution expanded north this year taking up residence inside Ponsonby Central.

To mark the opening, Boar and Blade’s resident snippers will swap their streamlined ‘50s inspired barber chairs for the bar stools of Ponsonby nightspot Little Easy to dish out free fades. Those looking for a more permanent transformation will have the chance to win one of ten complimentary tattoos applied on the night by Brock Fidow from Til Death Tattoo & The Genuine Hustle Tattoo Shop.

Drinks will also be flowing courtesy of Sailor Jerry and Little Easy.
