It’s a bit like stumbling upon a parcel that says do not open – without a doubt you’re immediately intrigued. It was a similar experience when we first caught wind of the opening of new Britomart bar Carnival42 and their promise; “things are about to get just a little bit weird”. A bit of prying into what is in store for the new pop up bar has confirmed they don’t intend to disappoint..

Located on Britomart Place, Carnival42 has nabbed a prime spot right in the hub of the party. However, don’t hold your breath for rugby chat here. Carnival42 is here as your escape portal to a more magical place, assuring us if you ask for anything “all black” you’ll get a cocktail without milk. Staying true to the Carnival theme, expect a crazy contingent of contortionist, fortune tellers, burlesque performers, lion tamers, fire breathers and magicians – always more interesting after a 42below cocktail or two. Without a doubt Carnival42 is going to provide a unique experience and with a different line up of performances each night we are all gearing up for a true spectacle.

If you’re looking to escape the ordinary and delve into something a bit wild, head along on the 9th September for the public curtain raiser and get involved in the madness – because at the end of the day who doesn’t love a good freak show?

Carnival42 will be open Tuesdays til Sundays for 42 days at 23 Britomart Place.
