Overview

One of the Viaduct's most beloved spots, SOUL Bar and Bistro, is hosting the collaboration of our dreams with Hawke's Bay-based winery Craggy Range. Craggy Range's Casey McDonald and SOUL's own Gavin Doyle will be combining their culinary talent for one night only on Wednesday, September 20. The pair will be serving up four courses of exquisite eats, matched with four of Craggy Range's delicious drops.

Both these experienced chefs bring their own flavours to the table, with Irish-born Doyle spending a good chunk of his life in the kitchen of Michelin-star restaurants, and McDonald cooking up storms in some of the culinary capitals of the world, from our own Wellington to San Francisco, London and Melbourne.

Although there are four courses served throughout the evening, each course will involve multiple dishes, with a total of 11 taste sensations dished up during the celebration of good food.

For those who haven't visited the Viaduct restaurant in a few months, you're in for a treat. SOUL has recently opened its doors after a fresh lick of paint in the kitchen and a refreshed menu. While old favourites remain, there are plenty of options that may become your new favourite – from the crayfish toast, to Cloudy Bay clam tagliatelle or a Hawke's Bay lamb rack.

These new offerings can be washed down with one of SOUL's new cocktails, carefully crafted by SOUL mixologist Katie Crampton. You will be spoilt for choice, from a Members Only gin concoction, a ginger-vermouth Shapeshifter, or, for the non-drinkers among us, an espresso no-tini.
