Ex-ante

Overview

Curated by Remco de Blaaij, Ex-ante features the work of Fiona Amundsen, Tanya Busse and Emilija Škarnulytė, Seamus Harahan, Chia-Wei Hsu and Susan Schuppli.

Storytelling and stories from the Canadian North, Northern Europe, the Asia-Pacific region and Aotearoa are tied together to question their dealing with conflicts of nature, law, politics and materials. Cinematic approaches to capturing community-cased realities.

The show is the first exhibition in the program of Artspace's new director, Remco de Blaaij. The new director previously held the position of Senior Curator at the Centre of Contemporary Arts in Glasglow.

This is Artspace's 30th year of contemporary art leadership so if you haven't been to this K' Road space before, maybe it's about time you did. As part of the public programming for this exhibition, an open reading group will be held on Thursday 7 December at 5pm.
