Overview

The event touted as the perfect summer party will return to Waiheke Island in February.

Flamingo Pier first popped up in New Zealand on the auspicious date of February 14, 2015. The flagship event was founded on a floating pontoon in East London's Hackney Wick by expats Tom Seaton and Luke Walker, assembling three of life's pleasures under the stars: eating, drinking and dancing. It's since been called things like "London's best party" and "top of the popups" by the UK press.

The fourth outing of Flamingo Pier will once again be held within the natural amphitheatre of Waiheke's Rangihoua Estate. As well as open-air disco jams, tree-hung hammocks, cocktails served from a boat and a dancefloor under the forest canopy, the event will include nourishment from a selection of A+ food vendors.

Acts lined up to take the stage include German DJ/live production duo Session Victim, Melbourne disco selector CC:Disco!, local chill collective Leisure, the founder of the Highlife parties, Auntie Flo, industry veteran Bill Brewster, lauded DJ Frank Booker and the Flamingo Pier DJs.

Sammy Akuthota will bring his Indian street food, chai and cocktail joint Satya Chai Lounge to Waiheke for a one-off pop-up. Expect 'drunk munchies' like 'Kurryage' – Japanese fried chicken with Indian spice, Manchurian vegetable dumplings, lamb koftas and iced masala chai. Further sustenance will come from slow-cookers Miss Moonshine's, poké bar Yeah Bowl, Ponsonby bar Bedford Soda & Liquor, Wellington's Garage Project and Man O' War Wines.

Flamingo Pier IIII will take place on Saturday 3 February, 2017.
