Overview

In August this year, a team of kiwis are heading over to Sri Lanka for Habitat for Humanity's Reconciliation Build. The resulting new village will bring together Tamil and Sinhalese families who want to begin re-building this small, war torn nation. They are creating more than just a place to live, they're helping create the chance at peace - enemies will become neighbours, help build each others' homes, and most importantly forge a new community.

The fundraising event this Thursday at The Nathan Club will raise money needed to pay for building supplies and the ongoing work Habitat is doing in Sri Lanka. The night promises an evening of great music and fun, with performances from the team's favourite NZ artists and a silent auction with prizes ranging from luxury nights for two at The Heritage Hotels and dance lessons for six friends with Dancing With The Stars winners, right through to the new Sony Experia Ray and signed All Blacks merchandise.

The ticket price includes a couple of glasses of wine and nibbles, so for a mere $15 is a pretty easy way to tick the box of doing charitable good while being social too. Come along and listen to some great kiwi music, place a bid on the silent auction, and maybe even walk away with one of the spot prizes that will be handed out during the evening.
