Overview

National Geographic Live comes to the Aotea Centre this winter with epic tales of adventure from the most remote corners of the planet.

Into the Icy Realms sees Paul Nicklen embrace the extreme to share some of his most some intense encounters while on assignment for National Geographic magazine.

As a biologist and photojournalist, he reveals the incredible challenges he faces in order to discover and capture images of some of the planet’s most elusive polar creatures. From narwhals, walruses, and bowhead whales in the Arctic to a close encounter with a female leopard seal who spent days ‘feeding’ him penguins in the Antarctic, Nicklen’s emotional yet humorous portrayal of his most electrifying, humbling and satisfying wildlife experiences will leave audiences intensely inspired.

An unmissable event for adventurers young and old, join this real-life explorer on an awe-inspiring journey. Don't miss the Q & A session after the talk.
