Light Up Ponsonby

Overview

Filling the void the missing Franklin Road lights have left in our hearts the last couple of years, Light Up Ponsonby is back to illuminate the central suburb this winter.

Light installations, projections and bespoke art pieces will be dotted up Ponsonby Road from Thursday, July 28 until Sunday, August 7.

Twinkling from 6pm-10pm each evening, there will be installations from acclaimed light artists Angus Muir and Bobbie Gray on show, as well as illuminated laneways, walls, trees and paths.

We'd recommend rugging up warm to check it out, then making a night of it with drinks or dinner at one of our favourite Ponsonby hotspots along the way,

There will be a surprise and delight of the lighting variety at various corners, all the way from Western Park to Three Lamps — and many opportunities for a sparkling selfie, of course.
