Overview

Oddisee is journeying to our fair shores once again on Friday, 7 December at The Powerstation. A critically acclaimed rapper, American-Sudanese Oddisee (Amir Mohamed) has made a name for himself by penning shrewd, unflinching lyrics that are everyday concerns of marginalised groups. Over the course of ten mix tapes and 11 studio albums, Oddisee has rhymed about racial divides, police brutality and social justice over soulful, off-kilter beats in a similar vein to A Tribe Called Quest, Eric B and Rakim and De La Soul.

Oddisee will be joined by his band Good Compny and guitarist-songwriter Oliver St Louis. St Louis is an accomplished guitarist and vocalist in his own right, and has appeared on several of Oddisee's albums. St Louis is also part of Good Compny, along with keyboardist Ralph "Real" Washington, MPC commander DJ Unown, drummer Jon Laine and bassist Dennis Turner.

Don't miss an opportunity to catch one of underground hip hop's best kept secrets.
