Overview

The Auckland Art Gallery comes alive after dark with sassy sounds, good wine and of course, great design. In conjunction with the exhibition California Design, 1930-1965: Living in a Modern Way, the gallery is running a series of Open Late evenings. Each Open Late features a short talk followed by a performance from a local band, plus drinks and nibbles.

The Open Late session are a chance to unwind in a stimulating atmosphere and to experience the exhibition and gallery in an informal yet intimate way. You can grab a beer or a bite from the Californian-inspired menu and chill out on the bean bags then peruse the exhibition at your leisure.

At 7pm author and tv/radio host Wallace Chapman shares his thoughts on one of the objects in the California Design exhibition. Meander back to the atrium for a second installment of bean bag lounging and soulful sounds from the lovely Tyra Hammond.
