Overview
Backed by Auckland Council, Satellites is a series of events, exhibitions and unexpected encounters showcasing Asian artists throughout Auckland's diverse suburbs. This month the initiative is back with the second instalment of its vegetarian breakfast series.
Following the successful debut outing with artist Ruby Chang-Jet White (aka Miss Changy), the second pop-up will feature "vegan chef, food writer and dabbler in all things wholesome," Gemma Walsh of Plant Magic and Satya Chai Lounge's Samrudh Akuthota.
Together, the pair will serve two courses of South Indian favourites, including upma and chai served street-food style and a contemporary take on dosa and mango lassi.
Tickets to the event include a pay-it-forward component which will allow Satellites to work with social enterprise The Village Cafe to put on a free breakfast event at Metro Theatre in Māngere East.
The pop-up can be found at 38 Pollen Street, Grey Lynn.
