Overview

Auckland four-piece Racing formed from the ashes of teen rock 'n' roll band The Checks, psych-pop group Sherpa and trip hop four-piece Space Creeps. Those diverse musical backgrounds are evident in the local supergroup's unique blend of groove-based psychedelic rock.

This December and January, Racing will emerge from the studio where they are working on a second full-length album. — a follow up to 2019's NZ Music Award-nominated Real Dancing which featured the singles 'Motel Pool', 'Run Wild' and 'The Bass'.

Following a support slot for Liam Gallagher, Racing will take the stage for an explosive live performance at Leigh's Sawmill Cafe on Friday, December 27. Support for the summer tour comes from 60s blues rock band Mini Simmons.
