It's become a tradition that every festive season, beloved South Indian restaurant Satya offers free meals to those in need — and the real-life angels are back at it again in 2022.

Even after a tough couple of years for the hospitality industry, Satya is still pulling out all the stops on Sunday, December 25 with a two-hour free lunch sitting for anyone who wants to get involved. Those staring down the barrel of a tough or lonely Christmas can join some fellow Aucklanders for an epic Indian feast that will blow the usual fare out of the water. On the lineup are various curries, rice, breads pickles and chutneys.

The best bit? You can eat as much as you like — and perhaps make some new mates while you're there.

While in previous years the Christmas lunch has run at Satya's various venues around the city, this year it'll only be at one: 17 Great North Road, Grey Lynn.
