Overview

For more events like this including articles, news and reviews suited for the modern man, head to the LYNX Black Gentleman's Guide to Auckland.

The final event in a three-part series that delves into the intricacies of storytelling. The Kill Screen is for the jokes that end in awkward silence, the guitar riffs that seem to drag on nowhere in particular, the ad campaigns that entertain but stumble at the final hurdle, and the stories that leave readers a tad confused.

It will be a discussion between some of the countries best storytellers. Included, are playwright Eli Kent, alt-pop musician Chelsea Jade, award-winning writer and performance artist Courtney Meredith, and comic illustrator (creator of The Pencilsword) Toby Morris. The host is New Zealand-by-way-of-Chicago poet Steven Toussant.

Expect an entertaining look at the ability to know when you're done, what little darlings to cull, and advice on how to form an ending that works. Whether you're a creative looking for inspiration or just someone with a reputation for telling really bad stories, The Kill Screen might be just what you need to get an arm up.
