Overview

Like something off the streets of Soho, London is a suburban escape nestled away in the central suburb of Remuera. Founded by two national barista champions and serving only the finest single origin coffee is Catalyst Coffee.

Catalyst has gained some of its popularity through social media avenues due to its aesthetically pleasing qualities. It's the combination of industrial lighting and exposed brick surfaces that have the hearts of Instagrammers racing.

Offering brewing methods from V60 right through to Clever Dipper, co-owners Hanna and Xin Yi have something to cover everyone's caffeine needs.

The space itself is minimally set-up creating an environment that subtly re-directs the focus back to the speciality coffee at hand. In fact, Catalyst goes as far as offering everything single origin, meaning no matter what you decide to sip on, there's a little story behind each beverage.

What's more, Catalyst has a small selection of freshly baked pastries on offer from local French bakery, La Voix Francaise. We recommend giving their new sundried tomato dip a go — it's a winner in our books.

All the coffees are served in takeaway cups but don't let this fool you. Catalyst Coffee is so much more than a takeaway shop. It's a space with doors open for the community to feel comfortable and relaxed in.
