Tokyo Lamington x KitKat
Create your own Tokyo Lamington at the KitKat Chocolatory.
Overview
Tokyo Lamington loves a collaboration. During lockdown, the Newtown dessert specialist brought its inventive lamington creations to suburbs around Sydney by teaming up with the likes of By George, Circa Espresso and Stitch Coffee. Back in 2020, it teamed up with Koko Black for a series of limited-edition lamingtons. And now, the inner west favourite is coming together with KitKat for an inventive new take on its signature lamingtons as part of World Chocolate Day.
If you've ever wanted to take the special lamington flavour creation process into your own hands, now's your chance with KitKat's mix-and-match style lamington creator. Available for pre-order and pick-up from Thursday, July 7 until Sunday, July 10, the KitKat lamington creator presents you with over 240 flavour combinations.
Head to the KitKat website where you first choose a cake and cream filling base, before deciding on what dip you want to cover your lamington in, and finally, what topping you want to coat the whole thing.
Options for bases include vanilla sponge and yuzu cream, chocolate sponge and milk chocolate mouse or vegan sponge with dairy-free hazelnut cream. Your choices of dip include an OG chocolate option, caramelised chocolate, ruby chocolate and hazelnut. And the toppings range from crushed KitKat or vanilla cookie crumb through to rose petals and freeze-dried raspberries.
If you're someone who gets overwhelmed by choice, there are three pre-created combinations that you can order in a favourites box. The three picks include a classic lamington, a raspberry and rose iteration and a gold creation featuring Biscoff pieces.
The lamingtons are available to be picked up from the KitKat Chocolatory on Pitt Street in the Sydney CBD. If you don't pre-order and want to head in to create your own unique dessert treat there will be a minimum wait time of 90 minutes.
