Overview

On a leafy corner block, with palms cascading above and summer umbrellas flapping in the wind, Adelita is the perfect wine bar for a casual afternoon drink in Brisbane.

The vibe here is warm, friendly and sunny, and with the sliding doors open to the street when the weather allows, you'll feel like you're sitting right opposite the beach. Having said that, the interior bar exudes cool, with ambient lighting and a stacked bar for your eyes to peruse while you sip a masterfully made negroni.

The 150+ wine list is constantly evolving, and to match up any drop, it's prepared a substantial, wine-friendly menu. Snacks include oysters with lemon, cucumber oil and vinegar, a razor clam skewer with cucumber reduction and a deliciously light heirloom pumpkin cannoli.

After more than just a snack? Try the confit duck terrine with black garlic, the crispy squid with green chilli mayo or the kingfish sashimi with torched prawn. Mains include a stuffed zucchini with hazelnut and roasted capsicum, an octopus with Egyptian-style taro and eggplant labneh, or a Queensland wagyu steak with cauliflower and stuffed wombok.

If you still have room for dessert, it offers up french toast with a banana and wattle seed dulce and chocolate mousse with coffee mascarpone. Adelita clearly goes well beyond the usual charcuterie board offering found at most wine bars in Brisbane.

But if that's your jam, it does have a few charcuterie boards on the menu. These will come with 12-month-aged Spanish manchego from La Mancha, wagyu bresaola from Queensland and a free-range Australian pork mortadella. Pair your charcuterie with the perfect glass of wine and let the gentle breeze, the rustling sound of the palms, and the soft sunlight drift you away at Brisbane's Adelita Wine Bar.
