The Flying Cock - CLOSED

Just like the set of Pirates of the Caribbean, with added live music, chicken parmy and innuendo.

Overview

Late nights, live music, quirky cocktails and tasty pub grub: The Flying Cock is a style of bar that leaves your ears ringing and your stomach wanting more. Opened by a couple of local Brissie entrepreneurs and located on Brunswick Street in the heart of the Valley, it's the perfect venue for late-night live music washed down with your choice of spirit, beer or exotic concoction courtesy of the bar staff.

Head upstairs and you'll feel like you're on the set of a Pirates of the Caribbean movie, with rustic naval netting, fishing accoutrements and sea shanty paraphernalia entwined above the bartenders' heads. Enjoy sipping on a bespoke cocktail while listening to the local Brisbane artists that rock out on the mini stage in the middle of the room.

Alternatively, if live music isn't your thing, set up shop at one of the sturdy wooden tables outside the doors of the downstairs bar and enjoy their typical dive menu of familiar food for less than the price of a cocktail. Expect burgers, spicy tacos, succulent steaks, chicken parmys and thick-cut sweet potato or shoestring fries. It's filling, comforting nosh that packs a punch of calorific flavour.

The Flying Cock is great for groups, for a casual drink and a quick bite or to catch the best of Brisbane belting out some serious tunes. With its menu available for lunch, it's also the perfect excuse a Sunday sesh. Or the perfect remedy to a large Saturday night.
