Overview

Our river city has stepped up to the plate in recent years, with more and more atmospheric watering holes opening their doors to those keen for a drink outdoors. But a chill session cannot be complete without the perfect mix of brews, views and vibes — Brisbanites won't settle for anything less, these days.

Riverside’s hidden gem Bar Pacino offers up some of the best Story Bridge views in Brisbane. Although it is slightly difficult to find, Bar Pacino’s sophisticated vibes are well worth the required effort. Its inherent Italian streak means that you can’t have drinks without having a bite to eat. We recommend nibbling away on a cheese plate matched with a Heineken 3.

Capitalising on Brissie’s celebrated warm climate, Stokehouse and its openair layout takes casual drinks to a whole new level. With the river right on its doorstep, the venue exudes a relaxed waterside vibe — this extends to the menu which offers a variety of fresh seafood, like prawn and passionfruit ceviche and citrus-cured salmon. Monday to Thursday, you can score a two-course lunch for a neat $45 — it’s easy to see why it has become the go-to spot to unwind.
