Overview

The incredible Australian photographer, Carol Jerrems captured iconic images during the 1970s. She focused her attention on moments of change and photographed people who were propelled by the desire for a better world. She was behind the camera to capture key moments during women's liberation movement, Indigenous justice and land rights protests and supported the country's many homeless youths.

Jerrems was the first Australian female photographer whose work was showcased in numerous museums, including the National Gallery of Australia. Some of her large body of work has made its way to the QUT Art Museum and will be available to view from 5 July – 7 September. The exhibition includes signed prints by the artist and photographs taken between 1968-1978.

Wander through the QUT Art Museum and be inspired by Jerrem's attention to detail and ability to tell a story with a single photograph.
