Overview

Brisbane based Yaron Lifschitz is a man of adversity. Coming from a Jewish background, with parents who hoped he would become a doctor or a lawyer, Lifshitz is credited for resurrecting the circus company ‘Circa’. Having had his very own Australian Story, Lifschitz and his troupe are being defined as ‘world beaters' in the field of acrobats and tricks.

Now, QPAC's Playhouse Theatre hosts Circa’s latest venture, S, described as being sinuous, sophisticated, sensual and savage. Having received rave reviews from the New York Times, S draws inspiration from the letter S; it’s structure, its grammatical functions and purpose. Accompanied by the music of The Kronos Quartet, Kimmo Pohjonen and Samuli Kosminen, S is a home grown act that combines intoxicating music with a melange of bodies.

Watch out Cirque du Soleil, there’s a new act in town and they’re serving up something surprisingly spectacular.
