UPDATE: MARCH 16, 2020 — Organisers have announced that Momo Fest has been postponed until further notice "due to uncertainty created by coronavirus outbreak around the world". New dates will be announced in the future — we'll update you when they come to hand.

To find out more about the status of COVID-19 in Australia and how to protect yourself, head to the Australian Government Department of Health's website.

The dazzling sights and intoxicating aromas of Nepal are coming to Doomben Racecourse, with Melbourne's Momo Fest making the jump to Brisbane for the first time. On Sunday, April 12, Momo Fest will celebrate Nepalese culture, Nepalese music and — perhaps most importantly — Nepalese food.

Running from 1–10pm, the event will feature more than 30 different varieties of momo (that is, Nepalese dumplings), with momo competitions also popping up. Just what kinds of momo you'll be eating hasn't yet been revealed, but past Melbourne fests have featured goat varieties and even brunch versions.

Also on the bill: live music, including bands, DJs, roving performers and multicultural performances; workshops, in case you want to learn more; and entertainment for kids.

Entry into the festival will cost you $2 — but you'll want more cash than that to eat your way through all the momos you can handle.
