Overview

The Brisbane Powerhouse is playing host to a great night of vibrant musical entertainment.

The Rhythm of Melanesia combines native, contemporary and westernised styles of Hip Hop and Dance as well as elements of Melanesian Reggae.

Countries represented in Rhythm of Melanesia include Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands, with performers from each country participating in the event.

South Sea Island songstress Georgia Corowa is performing alongside Papua New Guinean artists Jagarizzar and Cathy Lee as well as some as of yet unnamed performers from Vanuatu and New Caledonia.

Rhythm of Melanesia is a part of the Powerhouse’s world music and dance program, Planet, which is delivered in partnership with multicultural arts organisation BEMAC.
