Brisbanites, if you were planning to eat a variety of foods on sticks and tuck into mango sorbet crepes in the very near future, we have bad news. Those things will still happen, but not when you were expecting — because the 2021 Brisbane Night Noodle Markets have just been postponed.

The event was due to run from Wednesday, July 21–Sunday, August 1, this time taking place at the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens — a new venue for this year. The full vendor and food lineup had already been announced, in fact; however, as we've all gotten used to over the past year and a half, the pandemic has scuppered the event's plans for now.

With many of the Night Noodle Markets' vendors based in New South Wales — and with Greater Sydney's lockdown ongoing, and travel and quarantine restrictions in place for folks heading north from Sydney to Queensland — the Night Noodle Markets aren't able to go ahead at present. Instead, the Good Food Month staple will take place at another time this year. Those new dates haven't been announced as yet, so you'll need to wait to find out exactly when you can hit up a hawker-style array of stalls slinging all manner of dishes.

Fingers crossed that the already-announced culinary lineup will still make its way to Brisbane once new dates are revealed. In total, 17 stallholders were headed our way, including returning favourites such as Hoy Pinoy, Bao Brothers, Bangkok Street Food, Donburi Station and Gelato Messina.

All other Good Food Month events are still going ahead as planned, so your stomach won't completely miss out this month.

The 2021 Brisbane Night Noodle Markets will no longer take place at the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens from Wednesday, July 21–Sunday, August 1. New dates will be revealed in the near future — we'll update you when they're announced.
