Overview
Housed within Brisbane's former Land Administration Building, the Treasury Hotel is one of the city's most architecturally significant stays. Completed in 1905, the heritage-listed building has been carefully preserved, offering a sense of old-world grandeur right in the heart of the CBD.
While the adjacent Treasury Casino has now closed and moved to The Star, the hotel remains a standalone destination, allowing its history and design to take centre stage. Inside, ornate details – from high ceilings and arched windows to polished timber and classic finishes – create a stay that feels distinctly different from Brisbane's newer hotels.
Rooms are spacious and elegant, many overlooking the Brisbane River, Queen's Gardens or the surrounding city streets. The styling leans traditional, but comfortably so, making it well-suited to travellers drawn to character and heritage over contemporary minimalism.
Guests are within immediate walking distance of Queen Street Mall, the river and South Bank across the bridge, with Brisbane Airport around a 20-minute drive away. Valet parking is available, and while the casino is no longer in operation, nearby dining, bars and cultural attractions ensure there's still plenty to explore just beyond the doors.
