We all need a healthy dose of escapism at the moment, and if that means a head-spinning combo of chocolate, marshmallows and corn flakes on chewy dough, then the Crunchy S'mores Pizza from Cowch is right up your alley. It's crumbly, gooey, and just the tiniest bit salty (but aren't we all?).

When Cowch first opened in Brisbane in 2014, it was mind-boggling to think the idea hadn't been done earlier. Merging two of the greatest things imaginable, Cowch was the first dessert cocktail venue in the entire state. It now has three venues: this one in Chermside, plus one in South Bank and another on the Gold Coast.

No longer is dessert relegated to a gluttonous afterthought — Cowch's OTT menu puts sweet stuff front and centre. It starts with the classics — waffles and churros — before descending into pure sugar madness. There are dessert pizzas, including the aforementioned Crunchy S'more and the Party Pizza, topped with M&Ms, sour strap skewers and raspberry fairy floss, plus waffle pizzas, crepes, DIY popsicles and sundaes. And the sugar coma doesn't end there with boozy thick shakes and dessert cocktails up for grabs, too. Basically, dessert is now acceptable all day and sometimes features alcohol. We're in.
