Overview

Set on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin, within the Canberra Southern Cross Yacht Club, Snapper on the Lake is just the kind of unassuming spot you'll be happy to find when you're in need a fuss-free feed. It's every bit the quintessential fish 'n' chip joint, right down to the (fake) newspaper wrapping for the food.

The menu is a simple affair with all the usual fish 'n' chippery suspects — fish served grilled, crumbed or battered, calamari, prawn cutlets and potato scallops. There is ample outdoor seating available, so you can enjoy your meal with a beer or glass or wine. But we recommend taking full advantage of the location and setting up a picnic on the water's edge.
