The Best Things to Eat, See and Do During Lunar New Year in Sydney
Visit glowing lanterns, eat mango pancakes and learn about Chinese astrology.
Sydney's annual Lunar New Year festival is the largest outside of Asia, with 1.4-million people estimated to take part in the celebrations. While January 25 is officially the first day of the new year, festivities will run all the way to mid February — and the schedule for the next few days is packed. Whether it's spent gawking at glowing installations made from 100 lanterns or indulging in Messina's famous mango pancakes, the next two months is a great opportunity to celebrate Sydney's rich cultural diversity and help ring in the Year of the Rat.
